Character Theoretic Techniques and Applications

Abstract

In my MS Thesis project, I have read various techniques and properties of Character Theory and the use of these properties in studying the structure of Finite Groups. The book "Character Theory of Finite Groups" by I. Martin Isaacs is a reference for my reading project. I have also read the article "Applications of Character Theory of Finite Simple groups" by Martin W. Liebeck and the paper "On Involutions and Indicators of Finite Orthogonal Groups" by Gregory K. Taylor and C. Ryan Vinroot.
