Abstract
A highly efficient and environmentally benign protocol was developed for the synthesis of aminals using silica-supported iron(III) chloride as an active Lewis acid recyclable heterogeneous catalyst from N-nucleophiles and active carboxaldehydes. This current modest protocol is cost-effective and an environmentally benign method for the synthesis of pharmaceutically and industrially useful scaffolds.
