Abstract

Optical imaging techniques for biomedical applications, though far superior to other imaging modalities like Ultrasound, MRI and X-rays in terms of resolution, contrast and its non-ionising nature, is limited by the depth upto which it can penetrate inside biologi- cal tissues. Beyond a few mean free paths, light gets completely scattered and is rendered useless for imaging. However, Wavefront shaping techniques help in overcoming this limi- tation by modifying the phases or amplitudes of the light incident on the scattering sample. This work briefly describes how these modifications to wavefronts of light are made using feedback based algorithms.
