Group rings and Jordan decomposition

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to survey the progress on the Jordan decomposition problem in integral group rings of finite groups, updating an earlier 1999 survey [9], and to highlight the various contributions of Don Passman to this work. Various open questions in this area are presented and several different directions for future work are indicated.
