In contemporary times, rewriting History and Social Science textbooks is one of the contentious topics among historians and policymakers. In recent times this issue has gained more pace. We have analyzed the ideological influences in making textbooks and course curriculums. In Chapters 2 and 3, We will see our education system is influenced by the ideology of the ruling establishment. In Chapter – 4, we have also tried to analyze the aims of National Education Policy – 2020 and the possible hurdles in achieving those. In Appendix – A, we have also given a few examples of the changes done by state boards of different political parties. In India, both Center and State have the authority to make laws on education. Therefore, this act of ideologically influencing our education system is not done only by one political party or government. Across the spectrum, politicians always try to play the role of textbooks and curriculum experts.en_US
