Preliminaries on p-Groups

Abstract

This chapter is a collection of some basic results in the theory of p-groups. Beginning with central series of groups, we investigate regular p-groups and present some numerical results on p-groups with large centers. We then present a generalization of a theorem of Gaschütz, and conlude the chapter with a quick review of pro-p-groups and coclass graphs.
