Rare decays of mesons are important tools to probe physics beyond the Standard Model (SM). A well-motivated hypothetical particle is the dark photon A ′ . Dark photons are the electromagnetic force carrier in the dark matter. One may expect them to have weak cou- pling to the normal matter. A’ inherits a small coupling to the SM via kinetic mixing with the ordinary photon. It has been suggested that one can search for dark photon through rare charm meson decay D ∗ −→ DA ′ where A ′ −→ e + e − . Here, we are analysing the rare decay mode of D ∗0 meson where D ∗0 −→ D 0 e + e − .en_US
