The purpose of this paper is to survey the progress on the Jordan decomposition problem in integral group rings of finite groups, updating an earlier 1999 survey [9], and to highlight the various contributions of Don Passman to this work. Various open questions in this area are presented and several different directions for future work are indicated.en_US
