Abstract: | A one-pot approach has been developed for the synthesis of 2,3-disubstituted indoles through a base-mediated N-alkylation of 2-(tosylamino)aryl-substitued para-quinone methides with halomethylaryl ketones followed by intramolecular cyclization and tosyl group elimination sequence. This one-pot protocol provides direct access to a wide range of 2,3-disubstituted indoles in moderate to good yields under mild conditions. |
